The Bad

It has a smaller display screen compared to some other fishfinders Comes with a fixed mount bracket. This might not be a problem for you unless you prefer a swivel bracket.

Like all Garmin marine gps, the 300C has the high performance sonar receiver. While there are other Garmin Fishfinders that are more expensive with more features, the fact is you will only be paying more for a minimal increase in efficiency.

I bought this fish finder as a depth guage for my ski boat which I use in the Puget sound. The unit was easy to install. I wanted to install without drilling into the transom (a) because I did not want to drill into the transom and (b) I did not want to have to haul the boat out of the water. I am so pleased with this unit, and it becomes a great source of conversation on our boat. It makes us feel much more confident in unknown waters. One of the best pieces of electronics I have bought.
